SMELLING THE SOIL
WHAT CAN WE LEARN
Sweet or sour? The smell of soil gives us indications of its pH, fertility, and its bacterial to fungal populations. Anaerobic soils often have a sour smell and a higher concentration of bacteria compared to fungi. Sweeter smelling soils often exhibit higher fungal populations compared to anaerobic. When fungal and bacterial ratios are in balance, the pH of the soil can be close to neutral and the scent of the soil is delightful!

Graduating with a degree in Botany from San Francisco State University, Mikhail Kornievsky has spent his adult career fostering a closer relationship with nature. From finding fascination in traditional and natural farming systems, he has made it his life's work to educate and empower the community about regenerative farming practices and living a more harmonious life with nature
With over fifteen years combined experience working in California and Thailand's cannabis industry, Mikhail focuses on empowering small farmers on how to cultivate the highest quality and value for the lowest cost to the farmer and the consumer.

Tai
Having extensive experience in staffing and management, her entrepreneurial spirit has led her to develop multiple successful businesses. Her understanding of legal policy, regulations, licensing and permitting has also enabled her to help others create successful operations within Thailand.
Not limited to Thailand, Tai also has expertise in International Business relations, as well as sourcing and supply-chain logistics.
